Progress is defined as moving forward or onward in space or time.
We are constantly making progress by moving forward through space or time. Progress in this sense is impossible to avoid. Moving forward through space or time while learning, improving, and growing is actual progress.
After our last trip that ended as quickly as it began, we progressed. We physically moved on from where we were stuck. We made progress throughout the whole ordeal; we made progress and improved our situation.
It wasn’t until this weekend that I started to really think about my progress lately. Looking in from the outside, it’s been a year of solid progress. Major things with the truck. Incredible opportunities, experiences, and new friends. It hasn’t been without its ups and downs too.
Personally, I have recently been able to appreciate my personal progress. Coming back a better person after defeat or rejection. Coming back stronger from lessons learned is progress. It’s been a long road to get here, to be okay with mistakes from the past, to understand that not everything works out; things really are out of your control. This is all progress to me.
How have you progressed recently? Just moving down the trail? Or making progress?
Until the next one,
Andy
